2. PARTICIPANTS and SELECTION
LA ACADEMIA is open to performers, researchers, amateurs, and music lovers from any Country, with no age limit. With the purpose to create a place of musical knowledge sharing and formation at the highest level, LA ACADEMIA welcomes everybody who desires to be part of the project. Applicants can choose between two modalities: General attendance and Active participation
General attendance includes:
• Attendance to selected Masterclass (no performance required)
• Attendance to selected Conferences/Workshop
• Attendance to Recital (Brahms Project, June 3 and June 11)
Requirements:
- Online application
- Payment of general tuition fee (see below)
Active participation includes:
• Performance in the selected Masterclass, upon approval of submitted recording. LA ACADEMIA accepts applications by soloists and chamber music groups involving strings and piano. Accepted performers will receive a masterclass by the selected teacher.
• Attendance to selected Conferences/Workshop
• Attendance to Recital (Brahms Project, June 3 and June 11)
• Participation in the PREMIO INTERNACIONAL DE INTERPRETACIÓN "FESTIVAL DE ÚBEDA" (see below)
Requirements:
- Online application- Payment of general tuition fee (see below)
- Payment of active participation fee (see below)
- Recording (audio/video files or links to YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
- Artistic biography

After the screening process, the Direction of LA ACADEMIA will contact the selected active participants,confirming their acceptance. All participants will receive a Diploma attesting the modality selected and the credit hours attended.
3. INTERNATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS AWARD "Festival de Úbeda"
The IPAA is an important part of LA ACADEMIA, having as a goal the promotion of a musician or chamber group who attended the masterclasses, particularly distinguishing him/her/itself. The selected winner will be:
• Receiving the prize during the presentation gala of 2018 edition of International Music &Dance Festival "Ciudad de Úbeda" (including a short performance of ca.20 min.)
• Performing in a recital (paid) at the 2018 edition of International Music & Dance Festival "Ciudad de Úbeda"
• Performing in a recital (paid) at the "Música en la Internacional" concert series of the Campus Antonio Machado - Andalusian International University in Baeza (Spain), in 2018
4. CONCERTS
As a signature feature, LA ACADEMIA presents recitals showcasing the invited artists. This year the concerts focus on Johannes Brahms, with a Brahms Project including two recitals featuring the 3 Sonatas for Violin and Piano, and the 2 Sonatas for Cello and Piano.

5. FEES
Admission to LA ACADEMIA will be confirmed upon the payment of the general tuition fee of €70 per Masterclass, per person. In addition, and only upon approval by the Direction after the audio/video screening, selected active participants are required to submit the active participation fee, according to the following scheme:
- Soloist: €70 per Masterclass
- Duo: €50 per person, per Masterclass
- Trio: € 40 per person, per Masterclass
- Quartet or larger ensemble: €30 per person, per Masterclass
